What are the requirements to apply for a Work Permit?
Two-part competency tests have been established by the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC). This test is mandatory for nurses and midwives who are applying to register in the UK. All professionals who have received training outside of the UK are eligible to take these tests.
These competence tests are used to assess the skills and competencies of candidates in professional nursing and midwifery against current UK standards. CBT (Computer-Based Test) is the first part. It is administered at Pearson VUE test centers in your country. The Objective Structured Clinical Examination, (OSCE) will be the second part of this test. It will be administered at designated locations in the UK.
What is the eligibility criteria
- Register with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) if you’re a nurse who wants to work in the UK. To be eligible, you will need to meet the following criteria:Qualification: GNM/B.Sc. Qualification: GNM / B.Sc. / Post B.Sc. NursingMinimum of 1-year experience as a registered nurse in the past five yearsEnglish Language Requirements – Any of the following tests are acceptable. Clubbing scores can be accepted, but not more than six months apart. Check your eligibility to clubbing scores.A total and individual IELTS score of 7 or higher is acceptable. A Writing score of 6.5 is acceptable, as well as a score of 7.0 in the Reading, Listening, and Speaking sections.

Successful completion of OSCE UK can qualify to work as a Registered Nurse
There are two types of work permits visas available for nurses: Tier 1 and Tier 2. At least 70 points are required to be eligible for Tier 2 status. A sponsorship letter can add 30 points to your job application. An additional 20 points will also be given if you earn a decent salary after undergoing immigration. There is an added benefit to the UK: The average decent salary for a nurse in the UK is 20,000 Pounds, including allowances. It is eligible to receive an additional 20 points on the assessment grid.
